Friends of the Breitenbush Cascades

A new home on the Web is coming soon!

Friends of the Breitenbush Cascades or FBC was incorporated as an Oregon State Non-Profit in 1988 to address the conservation and recreation interests of the Breitenbush watershed within the Detroit District of the Williamette National Forest. Friends of the Breitenbush Cascades partners with watershed neighbors and other conservation and recreation organizations to gather the current science of how to protect and sustain in the health and vitality of the watershed. We provide or facilitate the public and our members having opportunities to learn, experience, and serve as stakeholders in the restoration and management, ensuring the well being of the biota, landscape and waters in the area surrounding the Breitenbush River.

FBC endeavors to document the flora and fauna of the area, and to provide the public the opportunity to learn and grow in understanding by observation and interaction. FBC seeks to partner and help in science and restoration projects, and we help to maintain the hiking trails in the area.

Friends of the Breitenbush Cascades mission:

  1. To increase the public's understanding of the natural resources, scenic beauty, plant and animal diversity, and ecological integrity of the Breitenbush River and surrounding public lands;
  2. To promote its sound management and conservation of its resources by government agencies;
  3. To increase the government's responsiveness to the interests and needs of the public.

If you would like to participate in the programs, projects, or activities within the Breitenbush forests and hot mineral springs please join our mailing list.
